Outside Course Eligibility

We welcome certification programs completed outside of our Approved Providers; however, we cannot guarantee acceptance of any coursework not on our approved list. Each submission will be reviewed individually to determine eligibility. We generally look for the following standards:

• The course must be a professional-level certification course with instructor-led components and practical application.

• The course must be taught by a qualified instructor or school whose background can be verified.

• The training must be structured and outcome-based, not simply self-paced content with a generic certificate of completion.

• The course must have a way to assess the students (i.e. a test).

Please note:
Courses from platforms like Udemy, Coursera, and Skillshare generally do not qualify, as they often lack in-depth content and an assessment.

Additionally, courses or products from companies that have previously violated the GSPA Code of Ethics will not be accepted. This includes any business found to mislead customers, disrespect cultural lineages, or act unethically within the sound healing community. Because each application is reviewed individually, you may not know in advance whether a course will be accepted. If your training does not meet the requirements, we will notify you and offer guidance to help you complete your certification through an approved path.

GSPA reserves the right to review all training providers and make final decisions based on ethical conduct, educational standards, and community trust — regardless of outside accreditation status. These decisions are final and not subject to appeal or debate.
